Sporty boy - born on skies

Believe or not, that little fella is me, some hundred years ago..
I really loved skiing and it was my favourite sport for many years. You newer know if I would start practising it again.

HouseS - exploring new neighborhood - M U N K K I S A A R I




Since moving to Helsinki I have been eager to explore my close neighborhood by foot and camera. It is funny how things look so different on pictures than in reality. - i like more what I see in pictures, cos the things outside the frame I just can imagine.... heee..

Stones, stones... these are the stones, so old that they are almost gone. Thy are from fairytale land, travelled long way. During the low tide they still remember how it was in their old land, and how they organize themselves we can see a glimpse of the magic land.... on a secret beach in far away island this happen once upon time..

eager to taste,

Valokuvatorstai 59: Klassikko / Photo thursday challenge - Classic / VANHA KLASSIKKO


This week's photo challenge 59. is classic. In this picture are two "institutions" or classical things, Vanha ylioppilastalo (Old Student house) and Stockmann (Department store, Harrods of Finland, covered by scaffolding). Both have a long history and both of them are well known....
I used to go for beers to Vanhan kuppila (bar at the student house) when I was young and thirsty and Stockmann's clock was classical meeting point too, was short go to the Vanha...

The New Old Country / Moving back to my Mother's land


It was more or less 9 years since I lived last time in my mother's land. Now I am back and it is interesting to see how much it has changed. Most of the things are positive, thou. :)

I'd managed to get an apartment from the centre of Helsinki, small but characteristic with sea view. It is quite expensive (rent), but not so much than in Reykjavik. Only problem is that I don't have much furniture due the fact that I have been mobile in my living habits and haven't invested any pesetas for decorative things and now I am eager to find some cool furniture, for example, I just found a fantastic sofa, which only costs 770 €... ( i am having internal fight between my id and alter ego to buy it or not)

Anyway, Helsinki and Finland has welcomed me and my beautiful half to enjoy this wonderland.. - and hey, Finland has four seasons, beautiful white winter, warm summer, blooming spring and melancholic autumn, aahh, my camera just waits to get out and take pictures.... heee...

Photo thursday challenge 57 / valokuvatorstai haaste


The challenge of this week was to shoot a picture at 11pm sharp 1st of September, where every you physically were. So I was in a smoke sauna having a morning swett. - The smoke sauna keeps the heat for long time, for example, if it has been heated up previous day then you can still enjoy really comfortable time in next morning... (this time I didn't go swim at the sea after sauna.... the water is getting colder)
